Little Italy (Italian: Piccola Italia) is a neighborhood in Montreal where several waves of Italian immigrants settled shortly after their arrival in Canada in the early 19th century and after the Second World War. In the 21st century, although few Italian Montrealers reside in the neighborhood, Little Italy remains the heart of the Italian community in Montreal and the surrounding area. Moreover, the neighborhood is home to several Italian-oriented businesses, including cafes, grocery stores, restaurants, pastry shops, and more.
